Finally took the ATI Titan compact 1911 out to the Range

I picked this up at the gun show a few months ago for $400 and some change. I know that compact 1911's can be trouble so I did not expect this pistol to work 100% right out of the box being so inexpensive but hot damn was I wrong. It shot everything thing we could throw at it from Blazer Brass to Winchester white box and Ranger Talons to the cheap steal case stuff. We tried 185 grain and 230 and it just kept going. We must have put 300 rounds through it before we knew it . Surprisingly it felt great and was realy accurate. At 7 yards I was able to keep all 7 rounds pretty much in the same hole but deffenetly less then the size of a quarter.

The gun started out all blued with some cheap fat wood grips. I had a local guy do the nickel plating on the slide and I ordered the slim line G10 grips online. I could not be more happy with this pistol especially since I only have about $600 invested

    Nice looker there!
of course function is what really counts and it sounds as if you got a good one.
years and years ago i purchaeed a Colt officers model in stainless and it was a real headache, never did get it completely reliable, but i am sure over the many years since then that manufactures have pretty much worked out the bugs in them by now!
Is that a set of VZ grips?
I like the looks and the tactical groove in the things.
I got a similar set of black/grey tactical cuts coming in the mail for my new Pt1911AL and think they will look good on the grey /black scheme of that gun as well.
I can say the grip surface on these types (VZ) is really something that one needs to feel to really appreciate, they are awesome.
