Guns copy guns - The Beretta Neos ain't original

Al this time I thought my cool little Beretta Neos was an original gun design. I guess like many other gun companies Beretta took a design to improve/change and sell as a new gun. Just wandering around the web this morning I discovered that the Neos is a copy of the Colt .22 of the early 1990s which was a copy of the High Standard Duramatic before that. Freaky.

Anyone that has stripped a Neos will recognize the mechanics of these pistols.

The Colt was called a Colt Cadet.... always wanted one.  I actually held one and the gun shop owner told me that he had one... and it was a great little gun... You hardly ever see one these days and they tend to go for ridiculous prices when you do ... see:

I actually had a First Edition (it even said so) Colt Cadet, serial number 313 I think. I think I sold it to help finance my Kimber (which was sold to help finance my AR).

Oh wow... And here I was thinking that the Neos was a pretty crazy/weird design. Nice find!

Yes they are good I could have bought the colt but didn't. They weren't made for big hands.
