The cz will cost you to much money feeding it because it will not break lol.
So I stopped by the local Academy after work to get some more 9mm ammo (2000+ rounds through my PT in 3 months!), and they had a CZ-75B in stock. $500 NIB, and after handling it, it feels like this pistol was made for my hand. All the controls are in the right place and it just 'fits' my grip - even more so than my PT92. On top of that, the barrel/slide/frame fit was super tight and slick like a hand-fitted piece, and it points like it's my index finger.
I *really* want it, but on the other hand, I already have (and love) my PT92, which is pretty much the same sort of gun (hi-cap service pistol chambered in 9mm), and to add to the dilemma, I also have a hankering for the stainless PT1911 that was also in stock (and very nice) as well. I like the PT1911, but I kinda wanna wait until the 9mm version rolls around next year so I don't have to stock up on multiple calibers beyond the 9mm and .22LR I'm already committed to.
Gah. Too many guns and not enough time...
Short form: I need horror stories or something to dissuade me from adding this Czech supermodel to my collection.
Alternately, tell me why you love your CZ-75 and why I should ignore my left brain and just buy it.

Not to mention that it has a sweet trigger!
I've been looking at the same model also at Academy.
The only thing I see about them is that the ejection port is kind of small which made it a little difficult sticking my little finger into the chamber to check for a live round. I've read online about some models (I don't remember which ones) breaking firing pins. The one thing I didn't like abou it was the magazine has to be pulled out of the pistol due to a tension spring in the back of the magazine well but it can be removed so the mags will just drop out when released. Still I want one!
I'm also waiting on Taurus to come out with the 1911 in 9mm.
That was all I could come up with right now.
Let us know if you get one.

If you can afford to buy the CZ also, it never hurts having multiple guns. I you can afford it right now see if they can do a layaway. Think of it as insurance, if 1 needs repair you always have something else to shoot. As far as the PT1911 goes IMHO it never hurts having multiple calibers.
You need a built-in excuse to buy the next gun.....and the next.....and the next

You want a negative answer ... ask your wife! I can always count on mine to give me 100's of reasons for not buying another gun!!!
The CZ is a great gun. Hard to break, the ones I've shot have never malfunctioned. I had the money saved for mine, but the dog went and hurt her knee, so now I get to pretend to shoot her leg.
If you don't like it retaining the magazine it is very easy to modify. Or, you can simply buy the retention spring for a CZ-85, that doesn't actually retain the magazine, but lets it fall free.
So in conclusion: Just buy it, and the 1911 afterwords, you will be happy!![]()

You know the other funny thing about duct tape? There are hundreds of uses, but it's not used for ducts. Go figure...
Yup, I'd keep the 92 and buy the CZ. After all you do have two hands, right?

'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.' Thomas Jefferson

Personally, I've shot the CZ-75B and found it to be one of the most accurate and ergonomic pistols ever. I ended up buying a CZ-75 P-01 because its compact size makes it a perfect fit for me, and a practical carry gun. It's amazing in every way--capacity is 14+1 9mm, holds and aims naturally, has a decocker, and has style. Now, it's not light... it's an all-alloy gun with rubber grips, which cuts recoil and besides I like some heft. All the CZ pistols except the P-07 are kind of old school that way, and I like that. For me, the only downside is that it's 9mm, but personal defense loads will ameliorate that, and I wanted a higher capacity pistol. So if you want to carry a CZ, I'd go with a P-01 (14+1 9mm) or P-06 (10+1 .40).
Back to your original question, I do like the full-size CZ-75 platform, and someday I plan to get a Kadet as a range pistol.
