    Any opinions on the .45???

I have the opportunity to pick up a new one, cheap (as if they weren't already cheap).

I have the Thunder 9 Ultra Compact. I've also had the Thunder 380. By far, both were excellent weapons. The 9mm has become my favorite and works flawlessly. It's amazing how much bang you get for your buck from this manufacturer.

    Re: Bersa Thunder .45?????

They are all steel. I have a Firestorm .22-6 which is made by Bersa for Firestorm. I used to subscribe to the Bersa Forum, and the members who had them seemed very pleased with the Bersa Thunder in the .45. I thought of getting the Compact model myself, It is just the weight of the all steel isn't quite as nice as the weight of the PT145. Also, Colorado Gun Works or Gun Smiths does an excellent job and gives quick turn around time on warrantee work. You can get info at Bersatalk.com Magazines are pricier than Taurus, and the Bersa seems to be as finicky about using OEM mags as the Tauri are. Most of the issues folks have with Bersa are the same, failure to remove all the shipping gunk from the factory and lube well, as well as dirty mags. Feed lips on mags seems to creat some problems. If the gun has any alloy, double check the feed ramp for cracks or imperfections. I have only shot 500 rounds thru my Bersa .22 and it has performed very well. I don't think you would be disappointed with the Bersa or their warrantee work, and the recommended warrantee center gunsmith, Royce, monitors the Tech section (in Bersa Talk) and will try to talk you through any problems, and usually has less than two weeks turn around time on repairs. Wish we could say the same for Taurus warrantee service. What price can you get it for?

    Thanks for all the info.

I'm not at liberty to say by who, but lets say it's really cheap and it's legal. I know nothing about these guns and wasn't sure it was worth it at any price.

I'll post when I get it and shoot it.

Don't forget to build in shipping any any ffl fee for things you see on gunbroker. Sometimes you are better off locally.
