    Coonan Arms .357 magnum autoloader

I made a trade for this Friday. The trade was so good I'm embarrassed to reveal the deal. He wanted what I had and I wanted what he had. I guess that's how a good trade works.

Anyway, this was purchased new by a mutual friend of ours back in the early 90's. My buddy bought it from him for $450 about 10 years ago. It's never been fired.

I don't know if I'll shoot it or not. It was born in the same city as I was.

I've heard of Coonan, but I don't know a thing about them. That's a pretty neat score, I'd say, MrVvrroomm. Sure like to shoot it though, being .357 mag and all.

Congrats! I have lusted over this firearm in the past. Basically can't do much a 10mm can't do, but I am heavily invested in .357 magnum reloading.

Coonan is no longer with us. This could be a good investment in the future, though I don't know that there is a lot of collector interest. If I had one, of course, it'd be a shooter.

I wonder how they avoid rimlock in the mags? Very nice score.

Very interesting pistol. I'd have to shoot it.

I recall S&W made a .38 special target pistol years ago, I think based on the Model 39. Don't know how they did it either.

Not only was it .38 Special, but it was designed to shoot wadcutters.

    And it worked.

As for the Coonan, how about a range report. I have always been curious about how the thing felt in your hand but never knew anyone who had one.

Beautiful gun! I wish it were mine. I understand the investment side of rare and collectible firearms, but like the guys above, for me it would have to be a shooter. In my mind we are doing the gun a dis-service by not allowing it to do what it was created to do. If it were mine it would be a shooter!

    Think about that a minute.

How can you do a disservice to an inanimate object.

And yet, I understand your sentiment 100 percent.

That is the way ALL true gun lovers think about a good firearm.... Like is alive.

That's one reason I name all of mine.
