The 13.5 ounce, small frame, 5-shot LCR has three main components: a polymer fire control housing, an aircraft quality aluminum monolithic frame, and an extensively fluted stainless steel cylinder. The Ruger LCR represents one of the most significant new revolver designs in over a century, with three patent applications pending.

On the S&W forum they have nicknamed it the "BUG" not for Back Up Gun but for Butt Ugly Gun. It's not the first plastic revolver.

At 4:25 in the video, as the host and an engineer (has to be an engineer as geeked up as he was) were talking about the trigger pull. Host casually opens up the action and pulls out a round! Later he puts it back in and pulls the trigger, so I guess it's just a snap cap, but I sure raised my eyebrows when I first saw it happen.

Looks good and very intriguing, but my LCP is close to delivery and I guess I'll stick with that.

My grandson has a gun just like it, only it shoots caps and has an orange thingy on the end of the barrel. The R & D nerd had a brace on his left arm and hand, I think I'd a made him take it off, makes it look like he has Ruger Arm, maybe a little too much recoil.

It's so "Refugly" I'd rather spend the money for a Charter Arms revolver and take the change saved and spend it on practice ammo.
