    Kimber Super Carry New Grips.

New gun grips from Henry Lance of texasgrips.com. I've really gotten a liking to this guy's work with mesquite wood and laser etching. Just changed out the grips from my Super Carry Custom HD to these. There's two bare blondish wooden handled 1911's in this Pride of 1911's that I'm sending in for some etching work and again personalising with my name on the bottom.

Thank you, to all who serve; past, present and future. It is people, like you, who are willing to serve that have made this a great nation. I pray for your safety, your family, and the leaders that make decisions that affect you. I will always pray for and respect the office of the President of the United States, I don't have to like the person elected. Until HE comes, or calls me home, here by the power of Christ I'll stand.

    Beautiful!

Great looking grips. Is it intentional to mislabel the species of wood? ;-)

    There's some good looking firearms!

Question for you. You have both smooth wood grips and checkered wood. Do you have a preference?

darbo, I actually prefer these smooth beauties even though I don't carry a full size 1911, I shoot them whether it's described as recreational or even getting my groove on for some stressful shooting. I don't have over large hands and all my work has been on a drafting table or computers over my professional lifespan. I've never had an issue with slippery slides, handling and a weapon just popping out of my hand.

I do carry a Kahr PM45 and the finish on that thing is actually punishing after 5-8 mags of shooting. My Super Carry Ultra which I do carry from time to time with it's gritty slides and etching, grooving on the handle is a bit more easier on my hands too. But again, that one spends a lot of time in the safe unless it's a *ahem*..Sunday BBQ, wedding or formal event somewhere.

Gorgeous grain, and the etching is really good looking too! Nice photography too.
