    federal acp ammo

Just got back from range.tried out new box of federal 230 gr fmj.Noticed rounds seem to keyhole at 7 yrds. Also fired a box of pdx1 hp.No problems.Has anyone else noticed a problem with federal ammo?PT145 performed above my expectations.Just love that little pitbull of a pistol.

Never noticed it keyholing myself, but i don't really inspect the shape of the holes at the range. I'll have to take a peek next time out, provided Walmart still has some Federal laying around.

I've always been able to trace key holing to reloads or extremely fouled barrels, but never factory ammo in a clean pistola.

I've not noticed it with any Federal ammo that I've shot.

Never noticed it myself and I was just out last weekend. May give them a ring and let them know. It may be a bad batch of ammo

Was this the Champion brand of Federal by chance?

I've never noticed keyholing with any .45 ACP ammo I've shot , but that was through a Ruger P97DC.

ditto, nothing wrong with the ammo, the slug is tumbling, you need to clean the rifling in the barrel with a copper wire barrel brush. Have you shot any lead bullets like wad cutters?
