    Millennium Pro Safety Lock

Well, I just bought my PT111. Before loading it up, I wanted to disassemble it a bit, and look at it for a once over, and give a general cleaning. I had locked the safety device, so I knew what it was like to lock it. I unlocked, and went through the steps to remove the slide. I did not however pull the trigger when I first attempted to pull the slide off. I did not go further than removing the slide at this point. I reassembled the gun, and cycled the slide a few times, and all seemed good. I attempted to turn the safety lock again, but it would not turn to where it popped out.

Do you think I could have damaged the lock? I did not pull hard on the slide, since I figured it should come off relatively easily.

    Thanks.

Make sure the pistol is unloaded. Decock it by dry firing, then try the lock again. If that doesn't work, look at what the manual suggests. Mine is buried out in the barn somewhere, and I'm not that familiar with the safety lock, as I don't use it.

The chamber must be empty and the trigger pulled. I had to figure it out too.

Thank you much. I did not see that you need to dry fire it. Locked right up. Not sure if we will use the lock, but keeping it that way 'til we have a chance to get out and shoot it.

I don't have small children at home so I don't use the locks.

We have 2 small kids, 3 and 5. We also need to address the guns final storage location and container, so for now, it is unloaded, and locked to avoid someone else getting their hands on it and using it.

You might want to think about a quality bed side hand gun security safe. So you can keep your firearm ready for easy access for home defence. Buy the best one you can afford to keep your kids out and only you can access for emergency.

Here is a link of a thread i searched for.Home Weapons and Small Children
You can use the search function at top right hand side of page. Type in gun safes then read at your leisure. If you have any more questions just ask i will help you find something to fit your needs. I use sentry full size safes but they do make some small firearm nightstand safes. Like i said any questions post up we will help you through this. You can also PM me If you want.
