I don't have a PT145 but do have a PT111 and don't see the need for one. I carry locked and loaded, testing it out every time I clean it to be sure the safety is working. But then I carried revolvers for years and none of them had a safety other than a hammer block on them.

The 24/7 compact with the decocking safety accomplishes what you want and is basicly close in size and weight to the mil-pro. About $20 more

    Re: PT145 decocker

It would be a nice feature on the Millennium Pro series, but I'm really comfortable with my PT145, as it is. If offered, I doubt I'd change. So it's pretty low on my wish list.

Ditto. I have one pistol with a decocker, a Ruger P95DC; I'd prefer a manual safety.

I have a 24/7 pro 45 C DS and love the decocker feature. But thats just me. There's really not much difference between double and single action except trigger take up. Single is light with a crisp pull at the end, double is the same all the way.

    Re: PT145 decocker

I'll probably get flamed for this statement, but to my way of thinking decockers are for those folks who

    (1) have no confidence in carrying a loaded firearm and/or
    (2) have no confidence in their handling of their own firearm.

I have never understood the actual rationale` of the decocker except as some kind of gun safety marketing hype.

    To each his own weirdness.
