Good luck, I have been waiting for my replacement magazine since January.Originally Posted by LesterPTelestrat

I mentioned that members of this fourm have complained that it can take up to a year to get parts from Taurus and CS said that was true, but it would take less time for the magazines. But it would be several more months.

I have read a few different options on the mag. I just want to have a piece of mind when I carry. What would be the best option A) Cutting on the spring or B) purchasing new mags?
Wow. Thank you very much! I was racking my brain to figure out if it was the mag or the feeder ramp. I guess I'm headed to Cabela's to have them send my brand spankin new pistol and mags to get smithed. Lucky for me I have my trusty model 85 to keep with my for my CCW. I'm surprised really that they haven't just stopped selling the "B" model clips and replaced them with ones that don't suck. Seems like a poor business model to me. I'm also glad that I started off with Taurus' model 85 as my first Taurus firearm. If it wasn't for its reliability I wouldn't have purchased the PT145. Had I bought the PT145 first I probably wouldn't have continued with the Taurus brand after the right out of the box issues. Again, thank you very very much. This is a big help and a massive time saver. Kudos!~

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I read your post this morning and it did wonders. I was so upset that my brand new pistol had issues right out of the box. I was even more upset to find out that Taurus would take months to fix a problem that they are well aware of. To my pleasant surprise how ever you did all the work for me. After reading your very informative post I drove over to my Dad's and got his caliper, hand files, wire cutters and a small flat head screw driver and followed your instructions. I took about an hour on each of my "B" clips that came with my pistol and once they were to specs I loaded them with my JHP's and fired away. Fired 20 rounds from each clip with out errror. You really have made my day. Thank you again for taking the time to post your hard work. This is a hell of a lot better then waiting for Cabela's to send off my pistol and clips and waiting to get them back. LoL. You ought to start a part time business fixings people's PT145 clips. You know the market is there. Haha.

Here is the picture borrowed from this thread.
My 4 magazines are type B.
2 came with my gun that I purchased in Jan2010, and the
other 2 I purchased a couple of weeks ago. (this was a brand new shipment from Taurus threw Midway)
Taurus CS keeps telling me that they have not redesgned the followers for these magazines.
From what I have read on this fourm, some believe that type A is the "new" follower,
but I can't find verification anywhere else.
So I bet that Taurus CS is correct and there is not a new follower.
I bet there are a hand full of PT145 magazine that contain a followers for the 24/7 magazines.
And we are mistakenly thinking that they are a new magazine.
Now personally I would love to get a hold of these type A followers because my 4 type B magazines will not function 100% with hollow point ammo. And I would like to try a different follower.
I must be the only one with the "A" follower. I am going to contact the vendor that I bought it from and see if he has more. I will post that info here, thank you!
I purchased my PT145 a few weeks ago looking for something realiable. I wish I would have known of all the problems before purchase but now I have it so I am trying to get it fixed. I followed the youtube video and cut 1.5 coils from the on large coils, then I stumbled onto this thread and see the other fix. Completely lost now and would appriceate any help or advice on how to proceed.
I'd follow this guy's instructions. I followed them to the T and my mags are 100%. Saved my life. Thanks again.

I am new to this forum so forgive me if this is a redundant comment. I have a PT145 and I figured I would try a couple Para Ordnance P13 mags I have laying around, since they appeared to have about the same geometry. I guess I was fortunate, the P13 mags feed great in my pistol and I have never had a problem. I've not fed them JHP but Winchester White Box and UMCs feed great. Never had a misfire.
Anyone else tried a Para mag (or at least Para mag parts)??

Can you post some pictures with the mag in the gun?Originally Posted by TdocZ
