    How does Taurus afford it?

I just don't understand how Taurus is able to sell their guns so cheap and with a lifetime warranty. I keep seeing G2s for 200-250. Comparable guns I considered for CC are more than twice the price(G26, M+Pc, etc.).

I don't get the math. Why is the G2 so inexpensive?

Costs are in the Brazilian Real....compare the USD to the BRL over the last couple of years. Just like all the US companies "off-shore" to save labor costs.

You beat me to it while I was getting the chart. For those keeping score at home, our charts are inverted because his is $/BRL and mine is BRL/$.

Of course this begs the question on what happens if (dare I say when?) the trend fully reverses itself.

Good idea! I did notice some Bi-tone PT111 G2s at Academy for $289. The black PT111 G2s were $279. Guess the Christmas sales are over!

    Slick's advertising TAURUS PT111 MIL G2 9MM's for $209.99 with free S/H.

Aside from the currency exchange rate, which fluctuates, I'm betting salaries and/or hourly wages are quite low, too, as the cost of living is probably comparatively lower.

Brazil has labor unions, but I'm not sure how aggressive or effective they are compared to U.S. unions.

Brazil also misses out on the American politician's web of EPA compliance paperwork, OSHA compliance paperwork, IRS compliance paperwork, the ever increasing numbers of licenses and permits, and liability insurance costs that American manufacturers have to face. Transportation costs are less, and the importing of materials has less political interference. Wages are less, but so is the cost-of-living.

Before anyone gets the idea that Brazil is a paradise, though, it's not. Healthcare is less advanced in most places, and expensive. Education isn't universal, even at the low level that American education has sunk to. Brazil doesn't subscribe to safe spaces, or honor trigger word warnings, either. Demonstrate there, and you might get shot, as well. PC is something electronic, as well.

I don't have the answer, but I'm really glad they are doing what they do!
