    question on dissasembly

I could use some help here in figuring out how the millenium pros, particularly the 380 acp one, dissasembles. I am reading the pdf manual and i cannot understand:
proper position of the buttons for each stage in the process of removing the slide assembly
the proper name for each part, as each is refered to in slightly different ways that make it tricky for me.
is the safety mechanism the decocker? they make it out as the decocker anyway.

    Re: question on dissasembly

Watch this video on the 24/7.

The take down on the Mil pro is the same

When looking at the side with the 3 levers, the far right is the safty in the middle is the slide lock, and the laft is the take down pin, rack the slide and lock it back with out a magazine in there and make sure its not loaded, thats very important. Now with the slide locked back and the gun empty turn the take down pin (far left when looking from the side) down and pull it out. It is hard to pull out the first couple times. You might have to use a dime or something to get some leverage, once you have the pin out bring the slide back forward using the slide lock and your hand to ease it back where it was when you started. once there and you hold it so its lined up like normal pull the trigger and slide the slide forward and off of the frame

    hope that helps a little

Very good picture. Nicely done and very informative. We should consider adding this picture to the FAQ section.

    Re: question on dissasembly

If you decide to do a deep cleaning, by pulling everything outta the frame, be carefull and take your time.
As you operate the safety, you can hear and feel a click.
That is made by a spring loaded steel ball that is very small.
After you remove the two pins from the frame, you can remove the trigger and safety group. As you pull the group out, push inward (not up or down but into the frame) on the safety lever to hold it to the group so this ball doesnt fall out. After the group is removed, place over a large bowl, turkey type pan, or box. Then you slowly pull the safety lever out and just let the ball fall. Then you can remove the tiny spring so you dont lose it either.

This process is VERY simple but just go slow so you dont lose the ball and spring. It also goes back together very easy too.

I will not admit to droping this little ball and spending over an hour to find it. Nor will I admit I learned this process from personal experiance

    Re: question on dissasembly

Just wondering why you have to take out the mag and lock it in place manually? Is there some problem with just locking it back with a mag in place and then ejecting the mag? I will do it as the instructions say, just wondering if there is a specific reason to do it that way.

    Re: question on dissasembly

If it is a loaded mag,
    FIRST its good safety practice,
It will prevent you from inadvertantly loading a round and less chance for a ND.
    If its an empty mag,
Its still good saftey practice and it forms a good habit to fallow so you dont inadvertantly load a round in the chamber thinking the mag empty when it really isn't.
It is ALWAYS good to get in the habbit of doing things the SAFEST way.
REMEMBER!!!!! The gun is ALWAYS LOADED.
