The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are out numbered by the people that vote for a living

"A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." - George Washington

    Welcome from Kansas
Thank you, to all who serve; past, present and future. It is people, like you, who are willing to serve that have made this a great nation. I pray for your safety, your family, and the leaders that make decisions that affect you. I will always pray for and respect the office of the President of the United States, I don't have to like the person elected. Until he comes, or calls me home, here by the power of Christ I'll stand.

A warm welcome to the Forum from North Texas! It is easy to get put off purchasing a pistol based on the experiences of others complaining on a forum such as this. Most problems arise from two sources: the first and most obvious is actual mechanical failure. The second is not carefully cleaning the new pistol of packing grease before firing the gun. I have seen this on other forums focussed on other brands of firearms. The thread is remarkably similar and have these two sources of failure in common. Guess which one causes the most problems? That's right, Number 2. The good news is that Taurus has a Lifetime Warranty and will replace a truly defective pistol. Something to consider.

The trick is to thoroughly clean your new pistol, then put a drop of high quality gun lubricant on the rails and on the rub points of the barrel and you should be good to go. Get all of the little metal shavings out of the slide and rails then check for burrs and brush those off with a small steel brush. Lubricate, reassemble and enjoy. Keep it clean and properly lubed and it will last a long time. Have fun!
