Hello, I just purchased a Taurus 44 Special Ser.No. 916746 and am wondering what year it was produced and exactly what category it falls under in the Taurus Line , any info on it would be greatly appreciated . Thanks

Just for your info you might want to edit out the serial number for safety and legal reasons. Don't need to have unscrupulous visitors try and take advantage of you.
There are two ways to figure out when your gun was made.
Taurus International Manufacturing Inc - Find My Model
Use the above link to find your model by inputting the serial number. The response should tell you when the gun was manufactured.
Or call Taurus Customer Service at 1-800-327-3776 and give the CS representative the serial number and they can help find some things out for you.
441s were made from 1993-1997.
So were Taurus 431s.
Can you tell me what barrel length you have as there are also Taurus 445s that have two inch barrels. The first 445s were made from1999 -2002 and then were just recently reintroduced in the last couple of years.
I own 9 , 441s & 431s with various barrel lengths. I do not own a 445.
For .44 Special ammo deals or places to look there are a few places.
