    Problems with taurus pt609 pro

    Hello everyone!!
Having troubles with my pt609, Ive owned several taurus guns and have never had issues. But with this one every time I load a mag and then shoot till empty, it locks open on last round! If I chamber that round and shoot it, then it will not lock open after firing?
Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions??

Thanks in advance for all advice,
    deeshooter

Welcome aboard from Tampa Bay. I'll bet you like it here.
As far as your problem, I'll start with the most common problem with new Taurus pistols. They are gunked up at the factory for storage and shipping. Ensure that you clear out all of that stuff. There may also be a metal shaving hung-up under or behind something. Many suggest C.L.P. and a good dose of air from a compressor to blow them clean. Check with the guys in the Millennium (Pro) Pistols section for more help. Also check as previously recommended, in the Smithing section.

'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.' Thomas Jefferson

I own a PT 609 pro, when a mag is emptied the slide will always remain open for the next mag. It describes this in the owners manual.I love it.
