Well 45 glad to see you finally did it congrats!!!! Nice to see you had a great time.![]()
Yep I finally did it, now just the paperwork and waiting for my lic. It was fun and a really good time. One of the sheriffs wanted the PT 1911 and I had brought that and my new 24/7 C 45 I had only fired it 20 rounds do to weather so I let the deputy shoot both 50 rounds each to check them out .
He was carrying a 24/7 as is personal weapon and was a Taurus fan 2 out of six deputies were carrying Taurui and spoke highly of them. The guy running the show was not a Taurus fan and said they had a lot of trouble I told him to shoot mine but he declined. I think if he shot well he would have to eat his words. As it was he could not argue with his deputies target he shot hostage targets at 25 yards all head shots and was sold on the PT1911.
He moved up to 10 yards and blew the center out of the target with my new 24/7 I would have liked to take the class with it but having not shot it I chose my old stand by my XD-9 perfect score 48 out of 48
a lot of good info and great class mixed with young and old, women and all.
He says he packs his class every month and they can't find bulk ammo for their AR's its all on back order everyone is buying mags and ammo before the election all the LEO's agreed to stock up now just in case.
Great day for me weather was cool and excellent and the classroom was great the guys teaching it were great Instructors and would be great to testify if needed.
They also offer a free citizens class that last 3 weeks Tue. and Thur. and 4 hr's on Sat. shooting if you take the class you can shoot at the sheriffs range the last sat. of the month for free and they will qualify you every time not to bad to have that on your record in case of a shooting I'm trying to get in that class now but the Oct. class is booked so I may have to wait till Jan. yee haa![]()

Gee, you had so much more fun than I did!!I did mine on the most rainy day we had in weeks.
You had lots of RO's and they enjoyed shooting your guns too.
We were all trying to stand in an old barn,
and hide until time to shoot. I hope your wait is short, and you get to do the next training.
The next two advanced courses, here are in Oct and Nov. I am bummed, it is Tax time for property in KY, and I need the almost $300 that it would take to get both courses in before winter to keep the sheriff from trying to sell my place. (well not really, but that is 10% of my tax bill,) and I am broke already.
Been broke and getting there fast again doing a lot of major remodeling and every week the contractor is like you need to do this or my wife is now we need hardwood in the greatroom....
At least the second class they offer is free and could only help in a shooting and its 3 weeks long. plus you get to shoot at the sheriffs range thats ten minutes from my house

You know I might just have to check with the local sheriff's office and see if they offer anything like that (even if it costs a bit). Never hurts to have LE, doing the training. Of course, the guy I want to take from, is one of those that trains pilots who carry in the cockpit of airliners.
I feel anytime you can LEO on your side is a plus thats Why i took the class from them then one of the high feleuntin sp one that offer everything from basic handgun to super hero classes

Grats on the first step! And it sounds like an awsome class, I'm seriouslly jonesing to take some of those live fire training classes, but around here they cost a bundle.

The three week couse on the last day they let you shoot full auto, basicly anything they have. can't wait. its supposed to be a great class they bring in the DA and he talks all day about what he looks for in a good/bad shoot how can you go wrong with the guy that will be prosecuting you telling you what to do. I'm really looking forward to this class.

Congrats on getting your class done !! You bring back good memories of my class. Hearing stories like this makes me wish I could get hooked up with some kind of shooting group here in town, or better yet, maybe a once a month Taurus shooters club of some kind. Something to chew on.......![]()
