    Some waves already sending water over the sea wall in Galveston. The west end of the island is experiencing flooding. Kemah has waves approaching the boardwalk and high tides are to peak between 0100 and 0400 Saturday morning. Depending on storm surge quite a few of the cities along the east bay along with Galveston will suffer devistating damage. Many areas in and around Houston will experience flooding. I believe that my family has made adequate preperations but this storm is so unpredictable. Some of the neighbors have left and designated me as the "looter shooter". I pray it does not come to that end.

    I Wish That You Guys Knew What The Seawall Looks Like, How Massive And Tall It Is, And How Far It Goes - If Water Is Going Over It, This Early, Thats Very Bad News.

    thank you all.i live in texas city 10min from galveston.i live 1 block from the water and we are staying home.in texas city is like a large bowl we have hugh pumps that pump water out of texas city.the seawall is 15 feet high and surge should be 15 to 20.we left when rita came 2 or 3 years ago and people broke in everyones house and stole stuff.NOT THIS TIME!!!!! i will keep in touch untill we loose power.

    This is a storm where the category won't matter. Wind is not the problem, flooding is the problem. There are lots of folks in Galveston who won't evacuate. They'll tell you about all the storms they laughed their way through.

    They brush off hurricanes like some people in California brush off earthquakes. This might be one that will bite them in the rear.
