    Re: exodus

Houston proper is getting winds steady at 45 with gusts to 60. So far no rain but it is expected within the next 30 minutes. We will receive between 5 and 12 inches of rain with this event. The main problems in town seem to be power outages and these are not concentrated. Thanks to all for the well wishes.

When i was there during rita i was in humble man we lost power at 45 mph winds,One thing i must say i was vry impressed the way people helped each other along 45 and other roads when people ran out of gas.

I never had a chance to eat there, but I do remember the huge crab on top. Also heard they took down the Flagship some time ago. I can't imagine that much water there. I remember walking to school in water up to my knees, and that was just after a normal tropical rain.

I did hear that one family I know got off the island and probable went to kingsville, so they're good. The other guy, my old neighbor, said he was staying no matter what, but I think I talked him into leaving, still haven't been able to get through to his cell phone to make sure. Please pray for him guys. He's smart enough to leave but stubborn enough to stay.

Will do, Lizardman. And yes, they've always had that crazy crab on top of the restaurant....but great food.
When Leonidas was preparing to make his stand, a Persian envoy arrived. The envoy explained to Leonidas the futility of trying to resist the advance of the huge Persian army and demanded that the Spartans lay down their arms. Leonidas told Xerxes "MOLON LABE", or "Come And Get Them."

    Re: exodus

The generator is running and I now have DSL access. We lost power at 11:00 pm on Friday night. I sent the family to Greenville Club Lake to ride out the recovery. Other than power issues we had no major damage. I looks like 20 live oak trees were shredded in my lot. Thank goodness for the cool front. It will take me days to clean everything up. Best wishes to all the other members that were in the storm's path.

Glad you came through it ok. After hurricane Charlie, almost all my oak trees were gone. I couldn't even get into my back yard, becuase of all the downed trees & branches.
Again, glad you are ok.- Jeff
