And here I can't even keep my lawn alive this year.![]()
I bought a fresh pineapple at walmart a couple years back. I cut it and served it...it was good. I saved the top and stuck it in a flower pot 2.5 years ago. The thing survived......I brought it inside during the winter, 2 winters....and now it blooms!....in a flower pot.
Edit: Update....see page 2.

Whoohoo!!! Love pineapple!!!
Yes, I was quiet proud of this as I had every intention of presenting it at the annual Garden Club meeting scheduled at the estate, but that fool Magnum ran over it in the Ferrari.

We just started one, here. Are you telling me that it'll be 2 1/2 before I get another pineapple?

Don't know?.........that is a bloom in the pic, not the fruit. If you live far enough south, you may can plant it in your yard/garden. But, even in Mobile it gets too cold in the winter. So, mine lives in a pot.
Edit: Let me add that this plant has not been taken care of. I just stuck it in a pot and left it. When I noticed it near death- I would water it. I suppose its lucky to be alive. Perhaps if you keep it watered and give it some occasional Miracle Grow....your might do well.
