Ruger's 'the cattle drive' stock for 10/22

I've been keeping this a secret as it was a surprise for Jack. He had been yammering about wanting a wooden stock for his new Ruger 10/22 rifle, so I went on ebay to find him one. I had intended to get just a regular wood stock, until I saw a prototype stock made by Talo. It's a stock engraved with a cattle drive scene. I was the highest bidder and today when we got home, there it was waiting for us at the door. We took his old one off and replaced it with the new one. I think it looks great! It suits Jack and he LOVES it. I thought for a moment that when he realized what he was looking at, he was gonna cry!!!! Apparently these stocks will be available soon if not already from Ruger.com. They'll be numbered and limited. This one is a prototype and they were nice enough to send me a letter with it to authenticate it. The entire right side is a cattle drive scene from one end to the other. The left side has a R 'brand' and two separate embellishments. I didn't take a photo of the butt plate, but it has the Ruger logo and a couple different 'brands', one is a running w which is a King Ranch brand I believe. Pretty cool all the way around.

    Here's the ad:

Here is the one we got today:

And...Jack admiring it after we dropped in his 10/22

LOL, he's still looking at it! He's been wandering around trying to figure out where to put the gun so he can see it from his chair. 0_o

    Terrific find.
Now, put that letter in a safe place. That's the "provenance" you hear them talking about on Pawnstars and that antique show on PBS.

    MissKitty,
You are one in a million, I sure hope Jack realizes that!!! However, rest assured...I am sure he knows it!!!! I don't think the smile is from the rifle stock, but more for who gave it to him.

You two kids be happy now!!!
