    Ribs

The summer season is almost here, one of my favorite things to do is grill ribs..add some tater salad, baked beans, fresh shucked corn and Texas toast!

    Anyone else like BBQ ribs?

Everybody loves ribs. Can anyone remember the name of the rib place they always talked about on MASH and somehow finagled getting a takeout sent to South Korea? I know the answer, just testing memories!

Try smoking them about two hours, then sprinkle brown sugar over them basted with apple juice, wrap in tin foil and cook slow for two more hours....forget about sauce.

Homemade. This recipe is attributed to Walter Jetton. Walter was LBJ's pitmaster and worked the White House. He even had a recipe for "Hubert Humphrey Ribs". So named because Mr. Humphrey couldn't get enough of them. Everybody I've given it to says it would make dirt taste good.

    It's a sweet sauce.

    Barbecue Sauce

    3 cups ketchup
    1 cup honey
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 cup water
    1/2 medium onion, diced
    2 Tbl Tobasco
    2 Tbl white vinegar
    2 tsp. garlic powder

Mix all ingredients. Bring to boil in a sauce pan. Reduce heat and simmer until onion is tender.

I forgot: I left out 1/2 a green pepper that was in the original recipe because I don't like it. I sub Louisiana Hot Sauce for Tobasco, use the whole onion. Modify at your will.

Zylo sent me a p.m. with the correct answer to the MASH takeout order on ribs. See how many others remember.
