The only "live" White Castle that I could go to recently closed. I'm down to frozen from the grocery store. They do need to offer a 12 step program on their packages.

Haha damn you :P it's about a 35 minute drive to the nearest white castle and I can't get any. Used to eat em by the sack when I lived in Chicago... now, well not so much but I get em when I can. If gas was still a buck a gallon I wouldn't think twice of driving to get em but now, well not so much. I used to work for a white castle actually and one of the best perks was the free food :P I put on about 40 pounds in afew months working there... this was in south chicago so it got interesting working the late night shift :P
Damn I'm hungry now... I love the Jalepineo burgers there but their not the same as just a classic slider... and their chicken rings are awesomeTo bad it's a drive down to Marysville to get any... well I can get frozen ones but it's not the same...
And it seems every time I pull up to one they raise their prices but I don't care... haha one time I ordered a 30 case and a guy after me ordered one... after those two they were complaining in the kitchen about it so just as a joke... I ordered another 30 =P They lasted about a week in my freezer...

One time in my life I could eat eight to ten at a sitting, now it's no more than 3 and that's with extra pickles. Any more than that and it's supper all night long.......ahh!!

I ate 27 in a sitting 10 years ago, today I can only eat about 12 and I'm done these days. You think it's a ride for you, I have to drive from Pittsburgh into Ohio to get them, and that means no CC for me at all. So unless I'm visiting family out in Columbus, I don't bother making a special trip at all.

A warning for neophytes who may now be tempted to try their first White Castles:
Do NOT think you can buy a sack and take them safely home to the family. White Castles have a half-life of about three minutes.
Take the family with you and eat the sliders on the way home.

Although I have been tempted to try the frozen ones in the grocery stores I have not yet gave into the temptation. We never had a White Castle where I grew up!
Growing up in the 50's and 60's ( yeah I was in the double digits before I started hitting these places ) we would go to Taylor's Maid Rite in Marshalltown, IA. for loose beef sandwiches you could order them "WET" greasy, or "DRY" for 20¢ a piece now they are up over $2.00 a piece. Two and a malt were a meal!
Henry's was the first "Fast Food" joint in town with 15¢ hamburgers and 10¢ fries in the 60's. Now that was a "CHEAP DATE"!!!! When I really wanted to impress a girl I would take her to Kim's Drive-in for a pork Tenderloin!
One of you mentioned a LUM's hotdog steamed in beer and I remember the wife and I tried them one time in Des Moines, IA. and felt like crap all the way home. They didn't last too long in Iowa???
How about the Dairy Queen ice cream cones back in the 50's when you got one nearly a foot tall for a quarter, they must have had at least a pint of ice cream in them!!!!
