No gun talk allowed (except for BB guns and cap guns).
Instead, let's all go back to the time when you still teetered between believing in and not believing in Santa Claus. Tell us about the bestest ever toy you found under the Christmas tree.
My favorite - in about 1947 - was called "Jumpin' Jeep".
In those days, most toys were made from tin and stamped in bright colors. This jeep was a wind-up toy and it would roll across the floor for several feet, then do a wheelie and change directions when it came down.
Lots of fun until one of my step-brothers stepped on it and bent it all out of shape.
The following year my mother sold plastics.
I know this will come as a shock to some but right after WWII plastics were the newest and greatest things and many products were sold at plastics parties (think Tupperware parties, but with hard plastics).
Anyway, she gave me a plastic Buck Rogers ray gun - essentially a futuristic flashlight with a handle. But when you pulled the trigger a beam shot out and the gun made a buzzing sound. Great fun for a few days. Then I realized my priorities were wrong: should have asked for a cap gun like all my friends did.

My green bicycle for X-mas 1970. My pops gave me a push down the street and the chain fell off and I couldn't stop so I ended up in a large cactus. He made up for it with a BB gun a few month's later. Oops wasn't allowed to say that.

My brother and I got an electric train shortly after WWII. We put that thing through all kinds of trials. Running it through barriers of all types, testing it on inclines and angles. Ton of fun.
But best of all was that lever Daisy, lining up and shooting Axis soldiers of all types under a lot of different conditions and terrains. We could strike matches with those little Daisys. Texas, at least, was BB gun country.
Probably a train set. We took half a ping pong table and set it up. Wanted to go hog wild with all the trees and stuff, but that got expensive fast.
