PETA - Just another word for stupid!

I just watched a news story on CNN a few minutes ago. It seems PETA is protesting Punxsutawney Phil being used on Ground Hogs day to predict the end of Winter. No..... I'm not making this up. PETA wants the town to replace Phil with a robotic groundhog. They say that it's cruel to subject him to the current levels of celebrity that he has acquired. It places undue stress on poor Phil.

With all the other troubles in the world do we really need this?

Well, if Phil is out of a job now, it sounds like he is gonna just be a common ground destroying varmit and should be shot just like any common ground hog. Sorry about that Phil, PETA just took away your celebrity status.

well while I detest the bad treatment of animals simply to be abusive to them I think PETA like any fanatical group is way over the line.
It really doesn't matter what the subject there are always fringe fanatics that give any subject questionable creditibility.
I suport the efforts of the aspca, I oppose the ideas of PETA.
I would like once to see someone that has had a pie thrown in their face to grab the little pencil neck that threw it and just beat the holy crap out of them right in front of the camera.
Kind of like if I had been President Bush, I would have walked over and picked up those two shoes and had my secret service people hold the guy that threw them and just wore his butt out with those shoes that he threw!
