During Elvis' highly regarded stint in the army in Germany, in I think the late fifties, he got to shoot the Big Gun, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vl1Wq...eature=related The Atomic Cannon. I worked with one Fred Aratari in the early 90's who was a barracks mate and on the same atomic cannon crew with Elvis and Joe Esposito in Germany. In the event Russia were to invade West Germany, the atomic cannon crews were to fire, retreat, fire and retreat, fire and retreat until overran. Elvis actually pulled this duty, thank goodness the fire and retreat scenario never happened for real. This was the only real defense Europe had against the massive Red Army and all the tanks any commander could ever want to have at his disposal.
