    scam! phone calls

if you get a call from 268-762-0014 --> DO NOT CALL !!!!
They also use other numbers from the same exchange. So if you get a call from area code 268 and exchange 762, it's 99.999999% sure to be a scam.

It's from overseas in Antigua. They charge stupid "fees" when you call them to find out why they called you.

If you can, blacklist the number.

I won't even answer most calls that I don't recognize, even being in business. Good tip to check who is calling and from where it originated. Google is a great tool for this if you just input the number, both with the usual dashes and without.

I never answer out of area code calls unless I recognize the number and I will not answer a toll free number and if they leave a message to call back and I don't know who they are, well I don't bother with calling.

I never answer calls from numbers I don't recognize, either. If it's important, they will leave a message and then I might call back.

Another good resource is whocalled.us. It shows if other folks are getting calls from that number, and they leave comments.

If I do not know the number I let the answering machine take the call.

800notes.com for any toll free number that calls.
I used it to find out the "Toll Free Call" on the caller ID was really Sallie Mae.
Then they started calling me with their REAL caller ID.
I have reported them twice to the FTC do not call complaint.
I even called them back one time and told them not to call.
    Still getting calls.
    May sue them next.
$500 a call will buy a lot guns!

Thanks for the info. I rarely answer the phone, even sometimes when I recognize the number.
