gun control no! trigger control yes!
it is ALWAYS better to have a gun and not need it, than to need a gun and not have it. Get a gun and GET TRAINING. Training is the key to making proper and responsible decisions in the use of deadly force and training is the key to expertly defending yourself in an unavoidable lethal encounter.

"A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government“. - GEORGE WASHINGTON
"Those people who defend their gun rights because their own government might one day Attack, confiscate or challenge their rights to guns are just plain ridiculous!" Barak Hussein Obama
Professor Kleck and Professor Lott have proven all of that already and documented it in their books. Prof. Lott has a new book out on just that sort of thing.
The beauty of all this is both professors started out as liberals who already had their conclusions drawn up. That is until they both did actual fact searching and research. What they both found out was that guns were of major use in a positive sense.
Here is another expert on the issue.
That covers most things.
