I can't help you with your question about the poly Judge, but my Ultralight Judge with a 3 in. barrel is lighter and more pleasant to conceal carry than was the blued Judge Public Defender that I once owned.![]()
Doesn't take much for me to want anther Judge. I was thinking of picking up a Public Defender Ultra Lite. Has anyone shot both the Poly and the Ultra Lite? I am curious about how much more recoil the UL will have over the Poly. I've heard the poly frame soaks up a lot of the recoil, and it's 3oz heavier.

All I can add is that at one point I wanted a Poly PD, but I ended up with the Ultra-Lite instead. Haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet, but it has a comforting heft to it without being overly heavy. In shorts with no belt I can drop it in a pocket loaded with 3 shells and 2 rounds, and not only does it not print much at all, it doesn't drag my shorts down to my ankles.
Frankly from my observations in fondling the Poly and owning the UL, either way you go you'll be good. Both are lightweight for their size and pack a good punch.
