Sounds like something I've been looking for. You could get the serial number and call Taurus and see what grip came on that gun. I would like to know to.
So ive been looking around for quite a while and even posted once before....i'm pretty sure that time it was about those little pesky Judge PD grips. Yesterday I went into the Mecca gun shop.....(not the actual name but its the best one in East Central Indiana) and noted that he had a PD with a full sized PINK grip. The grip was not a tracker style ribber grip.....it was more like the Compact grip that can be ordered from the web site HOWEVER it had a small indentation for your thumb. Other than the color, I freaking loved the grip. I dont mind the boot grip too much however for my purposes id prefer something still small but bigger......(confusing I'm well aware). The boot grip is very fat in my hands (ive got small hands for a dude......i'll kick my dad in the face for that) The grip I saw appeared skinny yet gave me a FULL grip and appeared more concealable than my Tracker grip from my 4" 627ti Tracker. For those how have attempted to address the Hogue 85 grips fit the PD Judge....they dont. Trackers dont either in my experience. (ive been quite a follower of Taurus and own 7 of their handguns currently.....lets face it...my wifes been good to me....or ive been good to her................something like that anyway) Ive called Taurus about a month ago and it seemed to me I got someone who only looks at the web site....not the actual guns they produce off the line. Ive found that some of their customer support personel seem to know their stuff.......and others.......should work in a paint department at lowes or something........(no offense to lowes employees.....) All in all, I kind of wished I had forked a little more on my Fathers day gift and got the rosewood gripped PD that my wife offered...............but then again I figured that an aftermarket grip existed since the Judge is about the most popular firearm going in my opinion. Thanks for hearing out my rant everyone!!!!!

This was like the grip, but it had a an indentation for your thumb on the left side and was pink. They were very comfortable and seemed to make the PD have a better site picture.

Great news..........pending anyway. Taurus is now offering a full 3 fingered combat grip via their customer service!!!!!!!!! Here's the scoop. The part # is 4-425. The price is 16 bucks. Now on their site through CS, its described as a large ribber grip BUT its actually the above linked grip made specifically for the Public Defender. Don't worry. They except Visa and Mastercard.

Are you ordering one? I'd like to see a picture of it installed. I could not seem to find that part # on their site. Can you only get it over the phone?
Yes I did order one and should have it sometime around a week from now. Trust me ill post a picture. Its not an item on the site ALTHOUGH if you are looking at one of the PD's (can't remember which PD but seriously its on one of them) and go to the technical portion there is a picture of a larger grip but its not described or part numbered. The part number I posted is the number Susan, the customer service lady, told me. She even asked that I called her back sometime as I told her I was going to post something about them on this thread/forum. I'm highly looking forward to what I feel will be an improvement to this weapon. Its not a grip that you will see on other judges because its still going to be smaller boot like grip, its just adding the 3rd finger for better overall control. I'm certain someone here is shaking their head in the belief that the grips are suppose to be smaller.......I recognize the purpose of the 2 finger ribber boot grip however I prefer something slightly bigger but still functional to the overall purpose of placing this beast on an 85 frame.

Don't know what grips you're talking about, but I saw these on Guns America today. I love the wood grips.

Those look good, but I think it might be a little uncomfortable to shoot.
I agree. The rubber grips really do absorb a lot of the recoil.Originally Posted by cremator75
