It is the same cartridge. Cowboy loads are just lower velocity and lower pressure loads. Enjoy your judge.

Are they suppose to be tight in the cylinder, mine just slide right out if i tilt the gun back with the cyl. opened, dont even need the ejector rod

Until the cartridges are fired, they will generally slide in and out with no assistance needed from the ejector unless the cylinder gets very dirty. The bullseye loads, if indeed loaded with bullseye powder, will stink more than most powders when fired and will put off a little more smoke. You should need the ejector to remove spent catridges. I think the Bullseye powder is a little dirtier than most powders. That may all be intentional for loading Cowboy loads as for cowboy re-inactments, they like a lot of smoke and smell.

What kind of non-cowboy 45 Colt loads are folks using in the Judge? I have a Public defender and prefer target shooting with the 45 Colt vs the .410. I have used the 250 gr cowboy loads and 255 gr Winchester Super X and get better patterns with the Winchester. Just wonder what others prefer?

45 Colt and 45 Long Colt are the same thing although 45 Colt is the proper name. Its just that some people have gotten into a habit of calling it Long Colt. You can read about the 45 Colt here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.45_Colt

Cowboy loads are just fine in the Taurus Judge. Cartridge brass expands when fired. This is the reason why an ejector rod is necessary. Unfired cartridges generally fall out by themselves because they haven't expanded yet and they have more weight to them.

You might want to start your own thread to get more responses to your specific question. Lots of Judge owners 'round here.

I did a quick Search, typed in "Judge Ammo". 7 pages of matches came up so... you could pack a Snickers bar and/or go that route too. Good luck.
