I wanted to take a few moments to let everyone know about our missing moderator.

Cimarron was a tremendous help to this site and all the members here.  He was one of the original, founding members.  He joined the site on the 12th of Jan 2007, just 3 days after the site was online.  He soon joined the moderator team, giving all of the other mods a good chance to get to know him better.  Tom shared with us on occasion his passion, which was preaching.  Tom and I have had some very meaningful conversations, beyond content pertaining to this site.  Tom seemed to be a very wise man who was somewhat laid back and always had a way with saying the right things.  He soon was recruited as a Global Mod where he did several things helping the site and the members along.  One of the most notable accomplishments of the site he made was the FAQ section.  As a joint effort with a couple of other of the mods, he was a key player in getting the FAQ section up and running and filled with TONS of useful information.

Tom had some problems with his liver that had eventually overcome his power to live. While I never met him in person, I feel that he was a very close friend and felt I knew him quite well.  On the 23rd of Aug 2008 he fell to his liver problems and joined a higher being he was destined to be a part of after preaching his word for so long.  I'm sure that Tom has made quite an impact on many lives and will be dearly missed by far more than us here on this site.

In remembrance, Tom's family has asked that donations be made to the children's camp at the church he was a part of.  Here is a quote that was sent to me in an email from Tom's wife.

Quote from: Tom's wife
Tom's passion was to share God's Love and salvation with everyone especially children.  Tom was a Southern Baptist minister and Director of Missions for Cimarron Baptist Association and they have a children's camp that serves the churches in the association.  They had several weeks of camp each summer and we, the family have requested that memorials be sent to Camp Lela in honor of Tom.  The money will be used to erect a building to house the camp director, camp nurse and others during the weeks of camp and be a memorial to Tom.  That will delight his heart to know that you and others are interested in donating to this cause so that God's love will be shared and  his memory may live on at Camp Lela.

I would really like for all of those who can to donate what they can to help the kids camp out in rememberance of our dear friend Tom.  If you would like to use PayPal, you can send a donation to <blank>.  There's is no one at that email address to reply to you if you have questions, but I am always available through PM through the site.  If you would prefer to send a paper check directly to the children's camp, I have the information for you to do that.

I think it would make Tom very proud of us if we help the kids camp out with the funds they need for the improvements.

Tom (Cimarron)

You can make donations following the link provided HERE.

Thank you all for your attention and time.

Also, I'd like for everyone to know that the FAQ section has been dedicated to Cimarron.  He put a tremendous amount of work into that section which still provides a huge amount of information to our newer members.

Tom's insight and wisdom made this the place to go for knowledge and information - not to mention him being a great guy.  You are missed by everyone here - your family, your congregation, the children at the camp, and of course us.

May God rest his soul, amen. My only regret was not having known him better. You'll be missed greatly Tom.

I should probably add that any amount of donation would be greatly appreciated I'm sure.  In numbers, we can make small amounts large amounts.  If you can only donate $1 or 5$, that's a dollar they didn't have before!

Think about this ... if all of the members donated 1 single dollar, that would equate into over $4000 for the kids camp.

Cimarron will be missed.  Just read his sticky thread yesterday on 1911 disassembly. He is still a great reference resource. The information he posted will be used by a lot us us for a long time to come.  Great man in more ways than one.

Was doing a search and read about the FAQ on primer wipes.  It was intriguing and thought it might be nice to PM Cimarron to discuss it a bit more.  Not possible!  How shocked I am to learn this.  I had a very good friend back in Nebraska that succumbed to cancer some years back and he was my "resource" on guns, ammunition etc.  Very very knowledgeable and I miss him much for his companionship and his willingness to share what he knew.
Cimmaron was very similar, and very earnest in his desire to help and to educate.  I am sorry for his passing and I will, like all the others, remember him in his generosity of knowledge and love for others, and miss the new posts from him that might have been.

I tried to disassemble my new PT-1911 last night and had a heck of a time. Today I found his guide to dis assembly, and it was magnificent. I did not know that he had passed, and I am very saddened to learn of it. I will pray for his family in this trying time, and hope that the spirit of the lord is with them this holiday season! I am sure that this will be a tuff holiday for them. Peace be with you Tom!! I hope that I will finally meet you in the Promise Land. God Bless You Sir!
