I got my De Lisle copy, Chris Goodwin has done a good job, I will see how it shoots on Tuesday.

Uh, I think the photo is too big, if any of you know how to make it more viewable go ahead and do it.

Yes, it's by C&G firerms.  As the supressor is part of the gun - ie it cant be removed, you don't need a supressor on your license - so it is just a bolt action .45ACP rifle. Any rifle with a built in supressor can be owned without a seperate variation fo the supressor.

Well, tried it out on Tuesday, and it is grouping ok - the barrel is a new target barrel so it should be run in.  (do I keep it under 4000 rpm for the first 1000 miles??)

The only slight problem is it is grouping 5" above the bull, which isn't a suprise as the iron sights are set from 50 - 200 yards and the indoor range is 25yds.  I don't really want to mess with the foresight (it has some allen keys holding it on so I could fit a shim to raise it) so I will have to aim low until the weaver rail mount Chris is making is fitted.

Question for anyone who has experience of 1911 style mags, the spring is so strong in mine that I could only get 5 rounds in at first, I'm up to 7 now and it is really tight.  It should take 8 rounds.

Is this normal?  Will it ease off in time?

For a 1911 mag it should be a little easier than that to load them.  I don't know how hard it is to get mags over there but GI mags generally are what people start with and they usually switch to wilson or chip mccormick mags.

I had the same mag issue. I had some cheap 1911 mags but the spring was way too strong. I sorted it by leaving the mag loaded for a few days. The spring was fine then. However as ACE said Chip McCormick mags are better. I bought a bunch of them from Midway UK and havent had any issues with them at all. They functioned flawlessly out the box

Thanks for the post and the video links! I have always thought this carbine was neat ever since reading about it years ago in Military Small Arms of the Twentieth Century (by Ian Hogg & John Weeks). And yes, my parents did not get all weird about their 9-10 old son reading a book on his favorite hobby! Enjoy shooting your De Lisle!
