How many use their "Taurus Security System" (internal lock) on a regular basis?

I've started using my PT145 as my main home defense weapon because my wife doesn't want loaded magazines in a nightstand gun that doesn't have a trigger lock (we have kids).

Since trigger locks are a loser for a defensive weapon in my opinion (slow and awkward in an emergency), I'm using the MilPro because it has an internal lock. Releasing the lock is relatively quick if I keep myself familiar with it and keep the key nearby. I've also heard the Taurus internal lock is more trouble free than Smith and Wesson's lock (I also have a late model .38 Smith revolver.)

Before the Mil Pro, I was using a KelTec P-11 with hi capacity mags. The added benefit is .45 is more powerful than 9mm.

Anyone else doing this? Just curious.

Nope, I can honestly say that I've never used the Tausur Security lock. Mind you, I don't have any kids running around the place.

I have 3 Taurus pistols and don't use the internal locking mechanism on any of them. I don't have little kids either (first grandchild on the way, tho) but I keep mine locked up in a safe when not in use. I did use the key one time - it is the same Allen key size as the allen screws used for mounting the sights. I used it to change out my sights on my PT140.

Same for me. If I still had children at home I would consider different security measures.

I use mine more than I want to, hospital carry is illegal here. So with my daughter in the hospital so much I lock it then lock it in the truck. It may only be a little problem for them to get a key, but they won't be able to use it on me unless they have a key on them. I never lock it at home, I to no longer have small children around my house.

Never used it, never will - have no idea where the key is, nor do I care.

I've got two pre-teens, so yes I do (including my Bersa in this, they have a similar integrated lock). And yes, the weapons are also locked up. Basically I TSS lock which ever guns I'm not actively carrying or keeping bedside, lock them in their safe, and put the TSS keys in with the ammo (locked up separately). I do keep a TSS key on my ring, because why not :-)

When the kids are gone, probably won't go through the extra hassle. But I love the feature. For traveling with the weapons as well.

All my Tauri not in service have the security lock on and locked in a safe. I have no children to worry about, so my bedside pistol is lit and ready to go as is my daily carry 24/7/365, the latter either on my hip or within easy reach. You would be better served getting a GunVault (or similar device) to lock your gun in - I would not use the TSS as it should not be engaged on a loaded pistol (one in chamber) nor with mag inserted. The TSS should only be engaged when pistol has been de-cocked (trigger pulled) and safely unloaded per Taurus recommendation to avoid damage to the pistol or harm to anyone.

No I do not use the internal locks. There are much better ways to secure a firearm.

It's still in the case my PT140 came in. I don't have kids here so I wouldn't know how to use it.

Hey everyone carry whether it's legal or not, I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
