Taurus to buy Remington, Marlin, Bushmaster?

I wish they would bring back the remington 3200 shotgun I know it would be above $4000.00 today $1800+ in 1984 when production was stopped. There are alot of them still in use in comp. skeet and trap

Gives me more reason to buy any of the three if it happens. I already own a Marlin 795, works with pretty much every .22 LR I've run through it, and is pretty accurate for the length of the barrel.

I've had the same experience with my 795 as well. With the scope sited in at 100 yards, the thing is a tack driver! Cheap too!

I'm sure if they wanted to relocate their NY facilities down to Texas, there would be all SORTS of tax breaks and incentives given. Greg Abbott would do what he could just out of spite for NY (and well, I'd have to thank him for such a gesture as a former Western NYer)

Another "hells yeah!" moment here... wish they would set up shop somewhere mid-cities, so I can get a decent job before age takes me totally out of circulation!

I doubt that Austin or San Antonio would roll out the red carpet for a gun manufacturer... San Antonio is super industry friendly but is super leftist right now and very very Democrat with a mayor named Castro... San Antonio has offered insane tax breaks.... I mean 40 years out for other industries/businesses but a gun manufacturer probably wouldn't work. Most any of the other cities in Texas would welcome them except Houston which is also a little on the socialist side.

We would be glad to have them in Michigan too. Our Republican governor just signed into law "right to work" busting the union hold on employers, a trained but unemployed work force and besides our state has pretty decent firearm laws....

I have been hoping for this since Freedom went up for sale. Hopefully they will put out great products (like Taurus does) at a good price (like Taurus does). Instead of making you pay for names like Remington, or Bushmaster.

If you're thinking you could someday buy "name brand" guns at Taurus prices, that's not the typical business model.
As an example, when Ford Motors owned Jaguar and Volvo, they did not price them like Fords.
The idea in these kinds of acquisitions/expansions is generally to keep the same niches filled while at the same time increasing the corporate footprint.

Now, if Taurus used Remington/Bushmaster machinery to turn out Taurus-branded clones, that's another story. Is there a business model for this?

The 336c is on my list of rifles I lust for but have no need for. Always wanted a cowboy action rifle but have never owned one and 30.30 is a tad expensive to shoot for plinking. That rifle has a hardwood stock I think...
