That sounds like a great day that you both will remember the rest of your lives. You made a wise choice to take the day off from work.
By the way, I have to ask..why shouldn't 8 year olds pump gas? We want to know. Truly.
All he wanted for his birthday was for me to not go to work and take him shooting and fishing. How could I pass that up...Sam had a great day at the range today. He's really handling the sears .22 well. It's finally sinking in. Sets himself up well, gets comfortable, and takes his time trying to make a good shot. He was 1in groups at 15 yards. Three range sessions ago he was all over the paper, so he's doing great. Then we hit up just outside of wickford harbor and the big scup were a biting... Truly a great day!!! I'm a lucky guy... BTW, don't let 8 year olds pump your gas...

'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.' Thomas Jefferson
Sam always wants to do everything I do. So today were halfway to the range and I stop for gas and a couple of snickers. Well Sam decides 8 is old enough to pump gas. So I show him how to do it and he's standing there pumping the gas in. I have no idea why but he pulls the nozzle out of the filler neck while still holding the pump wide open. Shoots gas all over me, the car, himself everywhere... I have no idea how he didn't get any in his eyes and he said only a couple of drops in his mouth. He was so soaked in gas o threw his shirt and shorts away at the gas station and had to wash him down with a water bottle and paper towels.
Way to go Dad!!! It was good for you and a lot better than that for him...God bless and keep up the "good work"![]()

Did you have extra clothes??? Surely he didn't shoot in skivvies!!!!
My son did that o so long ago....
He was probably making sure the gas was coming out but had no idea how fast it was flowing. He could just have a curious nature.
All in all it sounds like a good day.
