Sounds like a great range day BBGun!

I've got the IDPA match Sat. so a range date will probably come up next week. I'll shoot my small 9s - stock Kahr CW9 (3.6" barrel) vs 709 with a big green dot fiber optic front sight (3" barrel) at 7yds and see what I can do.

Good luck mingaa! Sounds like ya have some good lead chuckers. I usually just shoot with my 45 and 38 special. I've got to get me some different shooters. I have others but none I would compete with. On my wish list is a 357 w4" barrel or a full size 1911/45.
I'm glad we have some new blood in the game.
    It's great fun!

SOOOoooooo - is 4.5 the "long" barrel cutoff for this month? I'll probably take my Glock 22 along tomorrow as it does a lot of HD duty and I've been doing a lot more with the G34 since I picked it up. I love games and rules and if 4.5" is the cutoff then I'll shoot it at 7yds with its 4.49" barrel - hehe! It's 40 S&W so its no plinker! Just a heads-up check in. I'll shoot both to compare.

Well, went out to open the garage door, found my parts package on the front porch.
    New extractors and pin.
    Unfortunately, it don't work.
I have to do some filing or grinding or something to it.
Old extractor on left, new on right.

That extra metal keeps it from working.
Until I get this fixed I won't be shooting.

I know this isn't following the rules, but I shot this before seeing the post. Quick story before I post my target. The guy I shot with is a 70 year old veteran; the guy swears by Smith & Wesson revolvers. All American, none of that cheap crap made elsewhere. The first time I met this guy, I told him I had a Taurus. He flat out told me to sell it and get a S&W. He let me shoot some of his collection that day. Fast forward a few months to August when I met up with him again. I had my Taurus 24/7 OSS 45 this time.

We took a piece of wood and set it out at ~7 yards (I used my stride as an indicator of a yard, so it was probably closer to 8 yards). So I let him shoot my gun. He actually shot a decent group and remarked how he could shoot $1,200 Kimber's and not group that well. He handed me my gun back and said "show me what you got." The "flyer" in the target isn't actually a flyer; my gun shoots to the right since I am too lazy to push the front sight. I used it to correct my aim to dead center and started shooting. I'm sure some of you guys are better shots, but I've only been shooting handguns (read, this handgun is my first and only) for 3 months. I wouldn't have believed I shot them all if he didn't verify that all 11 shots were in this group. We talked for a while and had a good time. As I was leaving, he told me to send him an e-mail with the make and model of my 24/7 because he was going to get one.

I know this isn't valid for the shootout since I was shooting at 7 yards and shot 12 times, but I wanted to make a post since you guys are wanting some more pictures up. Let me know how I did.

OnTarget says the group without a flyer was 1.11 inches and 2.28 with the flyer. I'm still playing around with the program.

Used my Dremel and grinding wheel on the extractor.
    All fixed, works fine.
Will try for an entry soon.

Outdoor range opens at 1. Been too long - time to give the SKS a workout too! Results later.
