I watch swamp people so that should make me an expert right? I don't ever see them shoot gators with anything bigger than a .22.

I have no experience with Louisiana swamp procedures, but it seems a lot of the shots they take are faked. I remember one shot that started with a semi-auto and ended with a bolt action. It also seems really stupid the way they agitate the gators a lot before trying to take a shot - this is called "Hollywood". I said before that a .22 would be sufficient, but not the way they stage it.
