we would need more info than that!
what is the main purpose for the weapon? target, home protection, personal carry protection?
what size weapon do you want? very small, medium, large frame?
how much are you willing to spend?
how much capacity do you want?
how familiar are you with firearms?
and finally are you speaking of a typical Semi Auto or one of the revolvers in 380?

I too liked the BG 380. Had one but sold it. If you go to the Body Guard forum, you'll read all kinds of posts about broken firing pins. That's not something you want on a self defense weapon.

I have the BG380 myself but I would suggest checking out different ones.

Well this is the a Taurus forum, so don't forget the 738 TCP. Love mine, and I'm not a brand snob (we currently own 4 different brands).

Excellent points. Though a 380 IMHO would be a a poor choice primary home defense weapon unless it's the only gun you own. At that point you're not really concerned as much about size and weight, so might as well at least get a 9mm with some more capacity, and something that is accurate for further distances. Hopefully he's talking carry or in-car.

I second the TCP 738. I just bought one and have now put 100 rounds through it with only one hang-up, and that was due to my son not holding it correctly. It's a wonderfully accurate gun as well. At 7 yds, I was shooting a 4" group, most closer to 3".
