While I agree with all the comments, as previously noted, would like to see the actual experiment done again with JHP/commonly available SD rounds. Don't care which guns are shown, but would like to know the common SD ammo tested. Only in the zombie apocalypse will we see everyone shooting FMJ ammo indiscriminately at the public. Yes, in that scenario, I drop all consideration for FMJ vs HP rounds, too.

I would like to see that demonstration with the door at a 45 degree and at a 60 degree angle to the path of the bullets.

The film said "Don't ever use a car door" but as Maximumbob54 said, something is better than nothing.

I suspect a car door at a 60 degree angle would not be penetrated, but rather would deform at the point of impact and deflect the bullet. Multiple hits on the exact same spot would probably penetrate, I'll guess.

Anyone ever tried a car door at a sharp angle to the line of fire?

Ha, everyone is overthinking this. We don't need phonebooks, all we need to do is go out and find one of those Saturn vehicles, you know the model with the "dent resistant side panels and doors" those things will stop anything!

Everybody knows that the best bullet stopper is an old wild west saloon table. Every gun fight in a saloon has a table on its side with a cowboy taking cover behind it.

But I don't know how to fit one in a car door.
Never going to buy another long barrel pistol? Ok, now it's four, just got a Ruger Super Redhawk in .357. If you think the standard version is heavy you want to try the long barrel version. Pics coming soon...

Well, this is certainly borne out in Hollywood movies. More sparks of the ricochets than holes made. In fact, rarely is a Hollywood vehicle ever penetrated by a round of ammo - hundreds of ricochet marks but nary a hole. I need to see if I can buy some of those prop vehicles.

I went out and purchased an old M60 tank. No doors, just hatches. Of course I don't leave home without it.........really I don't leave home without it......it won't move.........but it has a 105 cannon.......I gotta get some 105 ammo.

Perhaps at a position where the firewall was angled off fairly steeply might offer some protection, but a ditch would be better., or behind door jambs if a 4 door.

I'm not putting my car in a ditch (again... but that's another thread maybe) for nobody!
