    Re: gun grease

Does grease slow do say the differential, transmission or suspension system on your car or keep it working smoothly? Grease is just a different lubricant but a lubricant just the same.

it probably does.. i know slide glide comes in different formulas.. the "lite" is suppose to be safe to use on SD guns whiel the regular and heavy can be used on comp guns.

i use the lite on all my guns, from a lowly 22a to my pt92 for carry never had a problem.

    Re: gun grease

we used lubriplate to lube everything that we didn't oil on the fire department!
the stuff works good, although i have never used it on a firearm.
don't think thats one of the listed uses!
as for using lite anything the only thing I lube with any lite is the inside of my stomach with lite beer!
and it does seem to perform well!
as for slowing down the slide, well a grease designed for firearm use i would doubt would be thick enough to slow/drag anything, i would think as grease seems to be slicker then it would improve the slide speed.
I know it seems to work well on all my autos.

Lubriplate is a company that make all kinds of different greases and lubricants for many different things, all sold under the company name Lubriplate. The Lubriplate Mil-spec 130 and 130A are lubricants made specifically for firearms and spec'd to government standards.

If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.' Thomas Jefferson

This is the stuff I use on airplanes.

Kinda like Frisbee. We just called it by its commercial name instead of
    the actual grade.

You know..Frisbee is actually a brand name of the flying disc..

    nevermind..

I know, if you play disc golf don't you dare call it frisbee golf. :P

BTW, I do use gun specific grease like Shooters Choice.

I've started using this on the slide rails and outside of the barrel. No problems to report:

Yes I bought a case of this from Amazon since I can't seem to find it locally. It is my favorite for all slides on semi auto weapons. Glock also sells a version of grease that I've heard great things about but never tried. The only thing with the Tetra is don't leave it for more than a year as it will leave a reddish film on the parts it was applied but great on a gun that is cleaned regularly as mine are. I have no long term storage guns in my very small collection. Each of my guns get fired at least once a month with full inspections, cleanings and regular lubes.

    Re: gun grease

According to my owner's manuals for both of my guns there are only 4 points of lubrication and it says to use gun oil on those points. I have done this for 20+ years now with no ill effects or the sudden urge to use grease. I think I'll stick to the manual's advice.
