Shotgun ammo is a problem....it's bulky. I think I have enough 20 gauge dove loads to last every dove season for the rest of my life. Similar for 12 and 10 gauge steel shot for my waterfowling. Oh, well, better too much than not enough I suppose. Just my shotgun ammo would fill that file cabinet up.
It serves well for my rifle and pistol ammo. I dont keep more than a couple cases of shotgun ammo anymore for quail hunting. While i do sorta miss the dove fields and i have long since given up duck hunting left those zero dark thirty wake ups and cold water to the kids and sons in laws.

I've slowed down a lot on the ducks since moving off the coast. But, I still love it. It got in my blood early. I have increased my dove and goose hunting, however. Still gotta get up early for goose hunting, go lay out in a cold rice field, but it's guided and less work the way we're doing it. I can only afford 3 or 4 hunts a year, but that satisfies me. I've got deer and hogs to hunt, too. I get up early, but just walk 200 yards to my blind and sit in a high back office chair to await the sun. Bow season means a less comfortable tree stand, though.

I'll likely never have to buy another box of duck loads and I'm reloading the 10 gauge to save money.

Nice. Put a "Hillary for Prison" sticker on there and you'll have it made.

I could build one out of oak and have gave it a lot of thought I have everything in ammo boxes some metal and some plastic I've got some cherry oak and cedar once made out of one inch omit would be tough to move fill it with brass and lead and it will stay put if someone wanted into it they would get in with little effort but once in the house there is other things I'd worry about more I should get a gun safe before I buy too many more guns. I still like to ambush deer and coyote I can't run around hunting them anymore my stand has steps not a ladder once I get up in it I read my book and keep an eye out when they amble by I ambush them

I do mine as well. These are the ones I customised and I have a bunch more just waiting their turns.
