How about for .223? Which brand would be the best? Wolf or Silver Bear? Or other?
"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks." -Thomas Jefferson

Depends on what you are shooting it out of. Wolf WILL stick in the chamber after a period of rapid fire (Iknow from experience) I shoot Silver bear in my AR's. If it is an AK .223 or an HK throw whatever you want at it.

That's a good price for an AK rifle, you got yourself a deal there. I just got my first AK two weeks ago,
maybe we can compare notes. I do enjoy my WASR-10 and I can say shooting it might become addicting.

Welcome to the club friend!! Buy whatever is cheapest and have fun. Also someone mentioned not using corrosive ammo. As long as you "Put some Windex on it" you'll be fine. Bulgarian and Yugo surplus ammo is corrosive but it is very good. Use something like Sweet's 7.62 or window cleaner with ammonia and the corrosiveness will be knocked out. Just make sure you clean it post haste. Also get a 12 gauge bore brush and bore swab to use on he gas tube.

the ammo is coated with a vanish like material that will gum up over time so you may have to clean more, but they are basically all the same. Luckygunner.com has some videos on them all.

I shot about 140 Wolf FMJ and 40 Tulammo FMJ with no problems at all.

I could not tell if there was a difference accuracy in the brands. I was able to hit a bad guy sized target in the vitals with ease all the way out to 75 yards.

I had heard the AK's were not accurate. I must have got a good AK because I could do 2 inch groups with either ammo brand with no problems.

Now that you have your new AMD65, make sure to check out these guys. They took the only flaw in that great weapon, and fixed it. Great cheek weld, with the same folding ability.
