Likely not if you are talking/Thinking about loading 1000 rds and only ordering 1000 primers and 1 pound of powder!
Now if you move up to say 2000-2500 projectiles and 4-5 pounds of powder and 4-5 thousand primers , THEN you save a good bit of money.
additionally normally shipping to me here in the Southeast from powder valley seldom hits the 20 buck mark, and thats ordering in the amounts that i suggetsed.
the HAZ MAT fee remains the same, shipping pretty much the same as well.
Small Pistol primers are 24.00 per thousand for CCI, but really those few pennys in the difference in shipping and primer prices don't make a lot of difference.
MY cost for reloading the 9MM , 38 Super or 380 is about 6.25-6.50 per box not including the brass., this is by ordering in bulk.
Now IF I was only going to reload 9MM than likely its not worth buying the equipment to reload, but when you start to reload the 45 ACP, 38 Super, 41 magnum, 380, then you get the savings at a greater amount and basically its about the same components and price except for the 41 & 45.

fair enough. My calibers right now are 9mm .45 acp and .223/5.56.

I don't see myself adding any others for a fair amount of time. I rarely shoot .45 because of the expense and only having the 1911 chambered in it.

I mostly practice with my rifle with the .22lr conversion in, cheap and close to real life. I always end my rifle sessions with 60 rounds of 5.56 practicing malfunction clearing and proving accuracy.

9mm is my carry and game ammo, it's what I order most often.

I can't convince the old lady that throwing out the spare bed in exchange for reloading equipment is a good idea. Maybe when we get into our first house I can have a man cave but until then, I'm lucky to have what storage space I do.

    .
My cost on 45 acp is about 875-9.25 per box, thats for range ammo, so you can see where the money then begins to add up in savings, 38 Super is like 20.00 per box retail, 380 is what 14-15 per box, so thats where the savings are, the 9 Mm is just kind of well i got the parts and the equipment why not?-dies are like 35-38 bucks a set, heck 1 box of 41 magnum makes that back!-LOL

Exactly. I'll keep it simple so all you reloading boys don't have to worry about me buying up all the components. I have a very addictive personality. I'll stay away from the presses for a while, I promise.

If I were to collect my brass would it be worth anything? I used to collect it and give it to a guy, every 1k pieces or so he'd give me a box or three of ammo in return, but he has since moved out of state.

Thanks for explaining. I understand how purchasing in bulk helps keep shipping & hazmat costs down, and $6 or so is very attractive. It's just a lot to plonk down at a time for an experiment. Yes, like you said, 9 mm is all I have for the conceivable future.

I have saved some 9 mm brass, and I'm asking a friend to teach me and let me try. In the same way, I gave a friend 50 rounds of Freedom Munitions to try out. Let's see how it goes.

well if you have any reloaders in your area I would think they would love to have once fired brass.
I would look up the price on new brass and try to get say 30-35% of the cost of new brass for the once fired!
Now if it was something other 9 MM or 40 Cal then it would be a lot more desirable.
you can find those calibers basically growing on trees but its still worth something.
OPPS! Sorry guys I just noticed this is a post about Freedom munitions and not reloading!
    MY bad!
I now return control of your television back to you!-LOL
