Stopped at Wally World yesterday and again bought the last box of 100 federal 9MM...This is the 3rd time I've bought the last box...Wonder if they get only one box per shipment..$19 per hundred, before sales tax.

I guess everybody is getting stocked up for the 2012 Zombie Invasion, AKA the Elections.

I was in my local Walmart last night, they had 115 grain federal for $11.98/box of 50, $22.19 for 100 rounds 115 grain Winchester White box, and $22.98 for 147 Hollow point Winchester White 50 rounds.

The best tactical add-on, as we all know down deep, is 10,000 rounds of practice ammo.-Hickok45

    Sort of overpriced.
Box of 50 here is $10.97 (when they have it) and $19.97 for 100 (when they have it).
Although I guess the local manager has the option of setting the price.

All prices at WM's are set by Bentonville. If you have more than 1 WM in a town prices may vary depending on what they sell and how quickly they move it. So ammo in 1 WM in east podunk may be more expensive than the WM in west podunk, even though they are only 4 miles away. Got this from the horses mouth...shes a WM Manager.

That is why the ammo you bought last week may be more expensive than this week. With each store shipment new prices come in.

I'm not sure that $1 more for a box of 50 Federal is overpriced but what I was trying to illustrate is that Winchester maybe a viable option is no Federal is on hand.

I mean overpriced for what they normally sell it for.
Earlier this year they raised the price and apparently it didn't sell very well and they lowered the price back to what it was, now it's always out of stock around here.
I found the same Federal 9mm at Palmetto State Armory in Columbia for $9.99 a box of 50.
It's only about 3 hours or so from me (142 miles), so I may go get some one of these days.
They even have a better price ($16.29/100) on the Hornady 124gr XTP JHP I bought from Bass ($18.99/100) for reloading.
IF I'm going that way for some other reason, no special trips.
