    .22 LR shortage?

I picked up a couple boxes of .22 lr ammo a couple days ago from Scheel's. They had plenty. Tonight I thought I'd check out Walmart. Two stores had none. And at the second man behind the counter claimed Scheel's was so low they were only selling one box per person. i find that hard to believe. Two days ago they had signs up "NO LIMIT". Just had to find an employee to unlock the case.

I haven't got any in my local Walmart since January. I asked and they didn't know.... The lady there is usually pretty good. The price is too high at the LGS and I haven't checked Dick's. It has kept me from buying a Heritage Rough Rider I like. Why get a gun in a caliber you can't get ammo for.

My local Walmart hasn't had any .22 ammo in months and months although I have heard others have. Having said that I sure don't see a shortage in general, at least not online. I have found several good deals lately at 5.5 to 6 cents per round with free shipping. I've ordered about a thousand each time so I've added 3K rounds to my stockpile lately.

Last time I looked in Academy, they moved the .22 ammo from inside the gun counter to actually stock it on the shelves with the other ammo. First time in the last two years that I've seen that.

Our local Wal-Mart hasn't had any .22 Lr in almost a year. Yet, the Wal-marts 20 miles in either direction North or South have it regularly. Most of the Local gun shops also have it in plenty. It is NOT as cheap as "it used to be", nor can we expect it to be. It's all over on-line, as well. The closest Dick's is 21 miles away, and, as mentioned, it's now back on the shelves, as opposed to "in the back".

Same situation at my local Academy with moving the .22 out to the ammo aisle.

The walmart I use does not have .22 in stock very often. I think the same 6 guys, still, line up at 7 every morning waiting to buy up what comes in.

I gave up on Walmart dames story 1 or 2 boxes every couple of weeks and they sell immediately. Online deals with free shipping has helped resupply me at under $.06 per round.

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

The 2nd amendment is not about hunting or shooting sports, it is about the citizens of this country having the means to protect themselves and the states from the tyranny, oppression, and misery of an over powering government. Modern rifles are a means for the citizens to stand up to an over powering government.

Our Walmarts in Lubbock usually have .22's of some sort in stock. The one I frequent has had the Winchester M-2, 22 long rifle in the 1,000 count boxes for $53 and had them for four days now.

I suspect the lines like we had three years ago are no longer at Walmarts as those guys have more stocked up than they know what to do with, but there are new hoarders not wanting to get caught flat footed, as they did during the last ammo shortage.

When b o took office, I was paying $14.88 a 525 count box of Remington Golden Bullets, which have now doubled to $29.97.

At some point, I would expect them to go back down a little in price.
