    Sneaky Pete Holsters: Obvious Carry

I think I'm warming to the idea of something like a Sneaky Pete holster. It has the advantages of an open carry, but meets the lawful requirements of not open carrying in certain juristictions.

Because it is fairly large for my PT-709, most LEOs and other knowledgeable individuals would either know or suspect what it is, but because it meets the requirements of law in certain juristictions, it would be a non-issue.

Still, I think I would only wear it when I didn't care if people knew I was carrying.

Does anyone who have seen or used Sneaky Pete holsters have comments?

I use something similar for my PT145. It's a concealed carry pouch from Tactical Tailor. I love it.

When dressed in other than jeans and a beer stained T shirt, The SP looks good. People that are not aware of what a SP is, think it is an over sized PDA or small video game holder or some such. If a stranger asks about the letters SP on it, just say it it is your tester for Solar Products company or Safety Products and it is you insulin kit. The leather goes well with being dressed ( think tie ) esp if your cell phone holster is a similar look leather. Canvas or cheap nylon weave just does not look right. It only takes one hand to draw as the thumb can raise the flap.
Like all holsters, takes a bit of practice. Seated in the car you can have one belt under and the other above so you can still draw.
I will say check the area below the grip at the bottom. If there is nothing there, might cut a piece of wood or some such to wedge in to keep the bottom from crushing if when in your car your hip presses it against the center console.

I thought about the Sneaky P, but it will not accept the 709/740 with Pierce mag extensions. I bought a KA-Bar TDI fanny pack

    Amazon.com: kabar fanny pack

Have only used it a few times, but it looks like a "fanny" pack rather than a square holster with a flap covering the gun. However, if one is not secure in their masculinity, I do not recommend the KA-Bar. LOL

Hey Wino, thanks for your responses on my threads today.

You might want to check out the Sneaky Pete website. They now offer a holster for a Slim with pinky extension.

SP does accept the pinky extension which is what I have on my 709. It is in the order options.

Thanks for the heads up - I really need another holster!! LOL That will probably be my next purchase and throw in one for the MilPro's to boot. I am curious about something that came to mind while on their web site - What the heck is the difference in a left or right hand Sneaky Pete????? Is there something internal not pictured on their site that distinguishes LH from RH?? And why list the 709 & 740 separately?? Same for the MilPro PT111 & PT140 - since both same physical dimensions?? Inquiring minds need to know. LOL

I kinda want one now... I'm fat, so worst case scenario I think people would believe I was a diabetic.
