I've had that happen with a casing getting stuck on my cheek and another stuck in my open collar of my shirt. All my gun's fault though.

First time out I used my 24/7 .40 the second time I used my Milpro PT145.

BTW I wouldn't worry too much about it, just shoot whichever semi auto 9mm or larger you shoot best. I think it is still that you have to use at least a 9mm to use any caliber as well as any action.

Always remember to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle your targets
    Reduce them to shreds
Reuse shoot them more than once
    Recycle whatever is left over

I used my Beretta 92FS I had at the time on my first CHL qualification. The DA/SA thing wasn't a big deal at the close ranges of the Texas qualification. Although I am used to that in pistols and revolvers. Not an expert, just used to it.

I have to take a renewal this fall. Since I sold the Beretta, I will probably take my CZ75D PCR which is another DA/SA pistol.

I qualified with a Kel-Tek 9mm. In KY you do not have to re-qualify to renew. Just fill out the form with a new picture and pay the money. You can qualify with any type of gun you want and there is no restriction on what to carry.

S&W 22A, because in Kansas it doesn't matter what you use, as long as you hit, at what you aim.
Thank you, to all who serve; past, present and future. It is people, like you, who are willing to serve that have made this a great nation. I pray for your safety, your family, and the leaders that make decisions that affect you. I will always pray for and respect the office of the President of the United States, I don't have to like the person elected. Until he comes, or calls me home, here by the power of Christ I'll stand.

I used my 24/7 .40SW. The quals were so easy that SA/DA didn't matter. I think the thought of having to qualify is more stressfull than actualy shooting.

6 years ago my class was given range owned 22 semi autos. 50 practice rounds and 50 qual rds. - 7 yds. I was casually picking the centers out of the 5 on 1 target at the same time I could not believe some of what was going on around me - yikes! 1 of 50 did not get the certificate to take to the sheriff.

In Tennessee you may qualify with whatever handgun you wish, so I used my Ruger 22/45 .22LR Slab Side. Scored 100%

I shall be qualifying weekend after next as part of my New Mexico CCW class. I'd love to use my 9X18mm Makarov, that is one accurate pistol! Alas, in New Mexico you are restricted to the caliber with which you qualified or smaller, so I shall be using my Hi-Point JHP .45. Also, you have to qualify with both semi automatic pistol and revolver if you want both on your permit. The trainer provides both, with ammo, in .45 ACP as part of the class fee. I just hope whatever revolver they provide is something I can shoot. I haven't fired a revolver in decades. (I knew I shoulda bought that used Ruger Blackhawk .357/9mm convertible.)
