At some level, I am always aware of it if the time warrants. (Kinda like I know I have a pocket knife on me, but don't spend every minute thinking about it.) Know what I'm trying to say?
Yup. To "forget" is a little different than being comfortable with your weapon. Just sayin'.

This one I'm always aware of. I also keep in mind places I can or cannot bring a carry pistol in. Hoping I never forget.

Once it's on, it's forgotten. I don't go to the post office any more, but I do go to the courthouse and the doctor's so I have to remember to 'lighten up' there.

I never forget I'm carrying but I have gone into posted places. Here in Kentucky they have to ask you to leave. I also once went into the Doctors office and forgot to remove my weapon. He never noticed so I got away with it. The funny thing is he will call the police if he finds out, but he has a cc license.

Never. I'm always aware it's there, when I'm out and about. At home too!

My Dr. Office has a sign now, since they joined a different medical group, affiliated with a hospital. The sign is on the main entrance, where there was nothing before. I too have carried into the office before this change. I know my Dr. is not negative about guns, as last visit he and I discussed whether the guns he owned were sufficient for defense of his home property, and at work. (he did not say he carry's, but the indication was there that he might). Like you said they can ask you to leave if discovered, refusal to do so they can call LE, and possible get a trespass charge placed against you. It gets sticky there and I have chosen not to carry in the office since the change. But the nurses and doctor knows I am not happy about it.

Having a weapon on you should be as natural as putting on socks, or grabbing your wallet, so I would say you are doing it right. "if you are going to carry a gun, carry a gun all the time" ( and anyone who says otherwise, is a child. Referring to 3 of you on this site.
