My company has a no weapon "rule". How can I get around it? I know that this is an infringement of my civil rights, but... I don't think I can fight it.
Don't believe the media!

You don't. You have civil rights, but your company has the right to make rules for working there. You knew this before you agreed to employment, or at least you should have. Follow their rules or find another place to work.
If it makes you feel better, I'm in the same boat. But I'm lucky in that I work from home most days.
When Leonidas was preparing to make his stand, a Persian envoy arrived. The envoy explained to Leonidas the futility of trying to resist the advance of the huge Persian army and demanded that the Spartans lay down their arms. Leonidas told Xerxes "MOLON LABE", or "Come And Get Them."

The fact is, your employer has accepted the liability for the bad guys injuring you, if your place of business is posted. Funny that the insurance agencies don't ask an employer what, if any, the weapon policy is. I'm an employer and have that in my handbook. I wonder why?

Sometime ya just gotta follow the rules, you don't have to like it, But in this case rules is rules.
If you have a difficult job to do....Give it to a lazy man......He will find the easy way to do it.
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

On the other hand an employer also opens himself up to another form liability by allowing employees to carry in the work place. Kind of a Damned if ya do, and Damned if ya don't position to be in.

Do like me and hang a strong magnet in your tool box and store a TCP in there. Put in the very top and leave it. But then my owners are all CC holders and do it strictly for other purposes

My employer is the same. The question you have to ask yourself is this, (And I have, I've had dumb people shooting into the woods were I work, and I was on the otherside of the woods.) I stand a better chance of finding another job for protecting myself and getting fired, then NOT protecting myself and dying cause some XXXhole thought I was an easy target. I guess middle ground would be if you lived through the encounter, you could sue your employer for not providing adequate protection for you, but thats a gamble I personally do not want to take.

Follow the rules jobs are not always easy to find. But you can question the policy and use the logic card on them and give them something to think about. Such as if i were a bg your sign would not stop me from bringing a gun and doing what i want to. But i had to pass a background check by the state to carry so don't you think if the state trust me outside of work you should trust me at work. Good luck and continue to carry where ever you can.
